What are the parameters you look at to see if it is viable to follow up on the scammed funds? I.e. Is there a minimum threshold?
We evaluate each case individually. The parameters considered in prioritization of cases relate to the feasibility of recovery, number of victims and value of claims. The feasibility of recovery depends on various factors such as the jurisdictions involved, cooperation with law enforcement, a number of different blockchain protocols involved. There is no pre-set minimum threshold, andwe will do our best to provide support for victims even when a class action or other coordinated proceeding is not possible.
How much can I receive?
We will do our best to recover the full value of your loss. However, the success depends on multiple factors such as number of other claims related to the case, such as the legal jurisdictions and law enforcement involved.

What is the price of the service?
We will prepare a custom offer and agreement for your case. The fee will typically be payable from the value of recovered assets, and may be dependent on such factors as:
  • value of the stolen crypto;
  • location;
  • jurisdictions involved;
  • cooperation of other relevant parties; and
  • chance of recovery.
What if I want to represent more than one victim?
Reclaim Crypto allows you to list your claim either alone, or as part of a group of persons who were affected. During completing your Reclaim Crypto request please tick the box marked “YES” in the Group of victims section.
What does the claim status mean?
Accepted for feasibility study – The claim was accepted for further feasibility assessment. The Reclaim Crypto Team is conducting comprehensive investigations on basis of collected evidence in order to estimate the chances of successful recovery. The analysis and further investigation  of a submitted case could take from a few months to couple of years. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team decides to assist in the recovery of the stolen cryptocurrency, an offer and agreement will be proposed to the participants related to the accepted claims. Analyzing – The Reclaim Crypto Team is during the process of analyzing the information provided in the claim. The initial analysis of some claims can take longer than usual. This may be caused by:
  • significant amount of data provided;
  • verification of all cryptocurrency addresses provided;
  • searching links to your case in our databases.
The length of this process must be assessed on a case by case basis and it can take from a few weeks to a few months. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team finishes the initial analysis of the claim, a victim will be informed about further steps related to the submitted claim. Awaiting more claims – The Reclaim Crypto Team marks the cases that, in the event of more claims, will increase the chance of recovering money as a result of a class action. At the moment the Reclaim Crypto Team is still awaiting more victims submitting the claims related to the certain case in order to collect additional evidence and examine the possibility of a successful reclaim. However, it should be noted that even individual cases may lead to capture of scammers or hackers in the future. The analysis and further investigation of a submitted case could take from a few months to couple of years. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team decides to assist in the recovery of the stolen cryptocurrency, an offer and agreement will be proposed to the participants related to the accepted claims. Canceled – The status is used in two cases:
  • The claim was canceled as duplicate by the Reclaim Crypto Team. A victim should provide all information/documents related to his/her case in the initial claim and should not create other claims to provide additional evidence related to the same case.
  • The claim was canceled by a victim.
Closed – The Reclaim Crypto Team closes the case on the request of the victim. Illicit addresses added to database – The Reclaim Crypto Team marks a scammer/hacker’s address as “high-risk” in Coinfirm’s database which allows to conduct a deeper analysis of illicit crypto flows, and to better trace the paths of outgoing crypto funds, through transaction tracking on Coinfirm’s AML Platform. The analysis and further investigation  of a submitted case could take from a few months to couple of years. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team decides to assist in the recovery of the stolen cryptocurrency, an offer and agreement will be proposed to the participants related to the accepted claims. Pending – The Detailed Reclaim Request has been completed by a victim and is waiting for an initial analysis. Each claim is individually analyzed. The waiting time for the initial analysis depends on the number of claims submitted (it can take from a few days to a few weeks). After this time the Reclaim Crypto Team will contact a victim via the Reclaim Crypto Service Desk. During this process a victim can be asked to provide additional information and documents which will allow the Reclaim Crypto Team to better evaluate the claim. Request for evidence – The Reclaim Crypto Team has started an initial analysis of the claim and asked a victim to provide additional information and documents which will allow to better evaluate the claim. After providing the requested information/documents by a victim, the Reclaim Crypto Team needs a relevant amount of time (from few days to few weeks – depends on the complexity of the case and amount of data provided) to investigate the received evidence. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team finishes the initial analysis of the claim, a victim will be informed about further steps related to the submitted claim. Request for more details – The Reclaim Crypto Team has started an initial analysis of the claim and asked a victim to provide some details related to submitted claim which will allow to better evaluate the case. After providing the requested information by a victim, the Reclaim Crypto Team needs a relevant amount of time (from a few days to a few weeks – depends on the complexity of the case and amount of data provided) to investigate the received evidence. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team finishes the initial analysis of the claim, the victim will be informed about further steps related to the submitted claim. Resolved – The claim was successfully resolved and stolen funds returned to the owner. Waiting for a customer – The status is used in four cases:
  • In the submitted claim are the provided details of more than one scam/hack/fraud. The separate claims should be submited  for all cases. This will allow the Reclaim Crypto Team to focus on a specific case and better analyze it.
  • During submission of the Detailed Reclaim Request, a victim has not provided the required contact details. The Reclaim Crypto Team is waiting for outstanding information to procced further with the claim.
  • The claim was submitted by a person underage. To procced further, the Reclaim Crypto Team needs to obtain an authorization that the minor is representing by his/ her legal guardian.
  • Unspecified above cases, a victim should check his/her claim in the Reclaim Crypto Service Desk for more details related to the status.
What has been your success rate in returning funds so far?
Reclaim Crypto service was launched recently (31 October ) and we have only recently started collecting the initial claims data. We have conducted multiple fraud investigation cases to date, many of which were successful, or are still in progress. Litigation and assets recovery processes may take substantial time in some cases.
How do you conduct investigations?
Coinfirm consists an experienced team of investigators supported by our proprietary technology and industry-leading Coinfirm Analytics and AML Platform. Thanks to one of the world’s largest database of blockchain transactions and our off-chain data and analytical engine, we detect the destination of misappropriated funds on the fly as well and can prepare comprehensive evidence in support. Coinfirm has partnered with leading companies and experts in the crypto industry that specialize in fraud investigations, business intelligence and asset recovery.
Do you investigate all claims?
We go through all claims in order to identify the cases with the greatest chance of being successfully resolved. However, even individual cases may lead to capture of scammers or hackers in the future. Our sorting methodology allows us to catalogue issues with maximum recovery potential. The final case acceptance depends on many factors such as:
  • Number and value of all claims gathered;
  • Minimum threshold of the stolen crypto;
  • Initial analysis of transactions – e.g. whether misappropriated funds were identified as reaching known exchanges, or are held by a single address or multiple disparate addresses; and
  • Jurisdictions of the customer reporting the incident and of the hackers or scammers.
How does the process look in practice?
There are many different types of fraud, each with different characteristics; therefore our initial review of your claim request requires significant upfront analysis. After you submit a Reclaim Crypto claim, Coinfirm’s analysts investigate each case in terms of data compliance. Where any crucial information/documentation if missing, we will reach out to you to obtain additional evidence. The operating process is adjusted to the type of fraud and includes tracking and evidencing misappropriated funds, reaching to other victims of the same fraud, creating and filing a class action or other legal proceeding, onsite investigation, screening of computers and servers, supporting law enforcement activities, conducting interviews and other business intelligence inquires, and assets tracking and recovery.
How do I report the case and what is the process of submitting a claim?
The whole claims process consists of 6 simple steps:
  1. First, submit your email.
  2. Register a claim and give us some time to conduct an initial feasibility assessment. During that time, we will decide whether we can assist you in the recovery of your stolen crypto.
  3. Next, we will sort all claims in order to recognize the recovery potential, and any potential efficiencies between claims, and to minimize the costs.
  4. If we accept your claim for progression, we will then provide you with an offer and an agreement.
  5. Once you have accepted our offer and entered the agreement, we will initiate recovery of the stolen funds. This will involve tracking the misappropriated funds, collecting the evidence in support, and cooperating with appropriate law enforcement and legal offices.
  6. Finally, if our recover efforts are successful, we will transfer the appropriate amount of any recovered funds to your account, in accordance with the terms detailed in the agreement.
What is a blockchain fork?

A ‘fork’ is a change to the software of a cryptocurrency that creates two separate versions of the blockchain with a shared history. When this happens, a new cryptocurrency (the forked version) is created. The examples of forks are listed in the table below. It may happen that forked cryptocurrency had been a subject of another fork (e.g. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) was forked from Bitcoin (BTC), and Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) was further forked from Bitcoin Cash).

Name of a forkSymbolForked fromFork date (UTC)Fork block height
Bitcoin CashBCHBTC1/8/
Bitcoin GoldBTGBTC24/10/
BitCoreBTXBTC2/11/
Bitcoin DiamondBCDBTC24/11/
Super BitcoinSBTCBTC12/12/
Bitcoin PrivateBTCPBTC28/02/
Bitcoin SVBSVBCH15/11/
Ethereum ClassicETCETH20/07/
When can I claim the forked coins?
Everyone who kept cryptocurrency on the cryptocurrency exchange account at the time of its fork, should be credited with the new forked coins or the equivalent. For example, you kept 10 Bitcoin (BTC) on the exchange account at the time of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) fork (1st August ). The exchange should have credit your account with 10 BCH and 10 BSV. If the exchange has not done so, you have the right to claim your forked coins from that exchange.
What are “Higher priority claims”?
“Higher priority claims” are dedicated to all fraud victims who have already submitted or are going to submit a claim at conwaytransport.com.au and wish to speed up the initial analysis of their claim and immediately adding nefarious activity-associated blockchain address(es) to Coinfirm’s database.

Higher priority claims will be prioritized by the Reclaim Crypto Team. The initial analysis and feasibility assessment of the submitted claim will start directly after payment has been credited in our system and the reported addresses will be added to our database after providing sufficient evidence by a claimant. Due to high demand of the Reclaim Crypto service, the waiting time for non-prioritized claims’ initial analysis may take a few weeks, whilst adding reported addresses to our database from comprehensive collected documents & data analysis of may take a few months.

Immediately adding reported address(es) to Coinfirm’s database greatly increases the chance and speed of funds’ recovery. Our clients and partners (for example: cryptocurrency exchanges, payment processors) may identify the stolen funds incoming to their wallets and have a possibility to take action. The claimant will receive a notification, once the illicit address(es) have been identified in our database.
Why it is worth prioritizing your case?
Coinfirm offers the only product on the market that is a breakthrough in identifying fraud, scam and hack-associated cryptocurrency addresses. By quickly adding the illicit address provided by the Reclaim Crypto Claimant to our database, we greatly increase the chance of funds recovery – our clients and partners may identify stolen funds incoming to their wallets. Please note that Coinfirm may send a notification to the claimant, once the illicit address(es) have been identified in our database.

Coinfirm has built the world’s largest structured database of blockchain transactions, including largest dataset of identified owners of blockchain wallets and wallets involves in illicit activities. We collect the data from great variety of sources, including the Clearnet (Internet), Darknet, clients and partners, own blockchain network nodes, data analytics, tracking own funds, data leaks, etc. Our data sources include the ecosystem of AMLT Network Members actively providing data to Coinfirm’s systems in exchange for reward payments with native tokens (this is the largest shared blockchain intelligence ecosystem in the world). This gives Coinfirm an opportunity to help in a variety of blockchain data-related issues if needed. This includes fraud investigation and on-demand analyses.
Will Coinfirm investigate all cases?
Not all claims will be investigated. Coinfirm conducts feasibility assessments of all submitted claims in order to identify the cases with the greatest chance of being successfully resolved. Only in these cases, will Coinfirm take steps to recover the funds.

The investigation of lost crypto assets (including assets tracking, legal offices involvement, and possible cross-border court cases) is a process demanding extensive financial resources. A single victim's claim validates the investigation only on very rare occasions, the claimed amount must be extraordinarily high to cover the costs of potential recovery.

Our goal is to help as many crime victims as possible, regardless of the value of lost funds. Due to this and the high costs of the reclaiming process, the only ways to support all victims of the frauds are:
  • offering the service of prioritizing their cases and quickly added illicit address(es) to Coinfirm’s database. This greatly increases the chance of funds recovery – our clients and partners may identify stolen funds incoming to their wallets and they are able to take action
  • gathering as many victims of a particular fraud as possible and building a class action lawsuit with our litigation partners
