TCR-UK has been relaunched in the UK by Ex-BTCC driver and Maximum Motorsport/VW Racing Cup owner Stewart Lines. The TCR series is huge in Europe and we’d like to see that success in the UK.

The TCR-UK will allow teams with TCR cars to complete in a single championship and with a huge number of TCR cars available worldwide there’s no shortage of cars to choose from.

The TCR concept means that the same cars can compete in National, Regional, International and Endurance races around the world, so teams can buy and run any homologated TCR cars from brands including Audi, Honda, Hyundai, Peugeot, SEAT and Volkswagen. Those same cars can be used in other series including TCR Europe and the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR).

Where does the Touring Car Trophy (TCT) fit in?

The Dunlop Touring Car Trophy (TCT) has been established to bridge a gap between many existing one-make race series and the BTCC. The TCT allows drivers with club level budgets to race in a wide range of eligible cars which otherwise may not be used. This includes many 2.0 turbo cars, Next Generation Touring Cars (NGTCs), GPRM spec cars and Super 2000 cars.

Any drivers looking for the Touring car action without the enormous
cost of BTCC are welcome. TCT cars will be able to run alongside TCR-UK cars on the same grid and compete together in the same races.
