Humberto Tan stops at 1 July with the presentation of RTL Late Night. He is in the new tv season, replaced by Nieuwsuur-presenter Twan Huys, who after 25 years of NOVA and Nieuwsuur off from the NTR.

Another future

“I’m going to stop with RTL Late Night, that is not at his own request”, says Humberto Tan Wednesday night in the live broadcast of RTL Late Night. He let us know that RTL believes in a different future. He is not with that decision, but he respects the decision.

Tan: “in The past five years I have had lots of fun made this program with the staff that all are present. I’m proud of what we have shown. We have a program put down that there was none. I go through until 1 June, then we have about 1080 broadcasts. It Was all well and wonderful? No. But it was made with love and passion by staff who have given? Yes. Therefore, I say with pride, okay, it’s time for something different.”

Twan Huys

“After many wonderful years at the NTR, it is time for a change,” says Huys. “With incredibly a lot of fun, I look back on my correspondentschap in America for NOVA and the subsequent presenting of Nieuwsuur and College Tour. After eleven years as an anchor at the most beautiful journalistic section of the Netherlands, it is now time for a new adventure on late night by RTL.”

An opportunistic decision

Frits Spits, who Wednesday night was a guest, called ‘at the table’ an opportunistic decision of the zendermanagement. “I think that the last time in the newspapers across this program and you, a witch hunt is conducted where I is the rationality, not a moment of my understanding.” Striker says that RTL wrongly yield to voices from the press and viewer ratings. “It’s weird that we in the Netherlands are constantly ruled by ratings and that the quality does not count. I think that is undeserved.” Striker called it brave of Humberto, that his tears could hardly restrain.

‘Re-invent’

“To new success, we need our late night re-invent”, says general director Erland Galjaard on RTL, on the arrival of Huys. Galjaard: “With all the changes professionals in the netherlands, where many in the same pond is fished, a new approach is needed.” He hopes with Huys the talk show “to the next stage”.
